Hi, I’m Joel Crampton – a Fractional Chief Marketing Officer.

I serve as a fractional CMO for financial advisors, Registered Investment Advisors (RIAs), and wealth-management firms that want senior-level marketing leadership without the cost or complexity of a full-time executive. With 20+ years leading demand generation, positioning, content, email, and full-funnel strategy for financial services companies, I help firms build systems that attract ideal clients, deepen loyalty, and generate measurable Assets Under Management (AUM) growth.

My background includes leadership roles at DLP Capital, Intrepid Direct Insurance, Buffalo Funds, and ExamFX, supported by an MBA in Marketing from the University of Missouri–Kansas City. I’ve previously held FINRA Series 6 and 63 licenses, as well as Life, Health, Property, and Casualty insurance licenses, giving me a unique ability to blend marketing strategy with regulatory, compliance, and fiduciary awareness.

I partner with firms to clarify positioning, modernize their marketing systems, upgrade client experience, and strengthen the growth engine that supports long-term AUM expansion.

When I’m not working with clients, I co-host the CMOs Without Borders podcast, speak on strategic marketing for RIAs, and write about client-journey design, growth frameworks, and modern advisory-firm marketing.
